Take Action: #FundSafeH2O in California NOW

  • Posted on: Apr 11 2016

Californians in the neediest communities deserve access to safe and sustainable drinking water. CCPHA is proud to join with a broad coalition of health equity and environmental justice organizations to call for the California legislature and Governor Brown to include a $56 million, one-time, drinking water budget package, in June of 2016. But, we need your support now! Our first budget hearing is Wednesday, April 13th.

Please visit our coalition’s take action page to learn more about the budget package. There you will find a fact sheet and a draft support letter template. Our coalition would appreciate it if you and/or your organization would please download the support letter template, place it on your organization letterhead, complete the highlighted sections and send it back to our partner CWC- asha.kreiling@communitywatercenter.org.

While an ongoing source of sustainable funding is needed to secure safe, clean and affordable drinking water and sanitation (the Human Right to Water) for all Californians, this proposal is a substantial and immediate investment that is a critical step to alleviating the state’s drinking water crisis.

Please consider joining our growing coalition that includes Rural Community Assistance Corporation, Community Water Center, Self-Help Enterprises, Leadership Counsel, Pueblo Unido CDC, CA Food Policy Advocates and others.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact Ari Neumann at aneumann@rcac.org or (916) 447-9832.

Thank you again for joining us in advancing the need to bring access to safe water to Californians who desperately need it.
